Why Families Choose A Hospital Bed
More Than Just Equipment
An ordinary bed was never designed for long-term care. When someone spends most of the day lying down, a normal bed makes it hard for the family to reposition, feed, and clean them.
A hospital bed solves three problems at once: the head section raises so the patient can sit upright, the height adjusts so the carer never has to stoop, and side rails stop the patient rolling out at night.
Who Needs One Most
- Frail elderly people at risk of falling out of bed
- Stroke patients who need help changing position
- Patients recovering from major hip or spinal surgery
- Fully bedridden patients needing round-the-clock care
- Families providing palliative care at home
What A Hospital Bed Really Costs
Rental cost depends on how many sections of the bed adjust. The more adjustments available, the higher the rent — but also the lighter the carer’s workload.
| Bed Type | Monthly Rental | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| 2-function manual | From RM139 | Elderly care, short-term recovery |
| 3-function manual | From RM229 | Stroke patients, long-term care |
| 6-function electric | From RM649 | Fully bedridden patients |
Hidden Costs Worth Asking About
Before you agree, ask the supplier about delivery charges, installation charges, and return conditions. Some suppliers take a large deposit or add a collection fee at the end.
- Does the price include delivery to my address?
- Who assembles the bed — me, or your team?
- Is there a minimum rental period?
- What happens if the bed breaks during the rental?

Measure The Room Before Ordering
A standard hospital bed is roughly 200cm long and 90cm wide. You need at least 60cm of clear space on one side so the carer can move around and the bed can be adjusted.
- Measure the bedroom door — the bed arrives in parts and is assembled inside
- Make sure a power socket is nearby if you choose an electric bed
- Avoid placing the bed directly beneath an air-conditioning unit
- Keep a clear path to the bathroom for a wheelchair
Delivery And Installation
Most families call us in a hurry — usually the day before the patient is discharged. Tell us the discharge date early so a delivery slot can be reserved.
We deliver nationwide. Within the Klang Valley, same-day delivery is often possible. Check the coverage for your area, such as Kuala Lumpur or Ipoh.
Usage Training
Do not sign for the delivery until you have been shown how to use it. The team should teach you how to raise the head section, lock the wheels, and lower the side rails safely.
